Level 20 is 140,000 xp. I can, with scrolls, gain 400k+ a day if I wanted, and wars/monks can go faster. Do you really think level 40 would be anything special for long? Not to mention that almost every PvE'er has the xp for that level already
/notsigned, if you want recognition you need to earn it through mastery of character play, not xpfarming.

All of you who agree with raising the level cap: in short, you are playing the wrong game.

Like Avarre said, if the cap was raised to 40, I'd be level 40 as soon as it was raised. Plus I just think it'd be stupid.

If you want to be a hero, let your blade speak for you, not some numerical value determining your CHARICTER's abilities. I dont see how grinding to some obserdly high level is an acheivement. I did that in FF11 and it was nothing to be excited about.
Your actions speak louder than what number you have tagged onto your charicter. Get out there and prove your self soldier! O_o

Just read the Factions FAQ on guildwars.com. There is a question related to the level cap. I personally think WoW and Lineage2 suck just because you dont need any active brain cells to play it...

Look at it this way: while you are levelling up, you are still in the learning stage of the game. Once you reach level 20 (the proper way) you should have learned enough about game mechanics to be able to play the game with skill.

You fail because:
1. You dont have paragraphs.
2. Your friends share your IQ level.
3. You want to ruin the game.
4. You arent playing WoW.
5. You have one huge chunk of text.
6. You didnt search these forums, let alone Guildwars.com where you would have found out that the level cap will never be raised.
7. What fun is a game when you have a +2000 sword of "No social life"
8. One. Huge. Paragraph.

When I first started Guild Wars, I too looked at the level cap and scoffed. Why would we bother with levels at all if there is a cap?
As I continued to play, though, and the advantages of being able to continue levelling remained, I also came to realize that the concept behind Guild Wars would be moot if there was no level cap.
The game is about "personal skill, not time played".
The level cap also provides a seemingly mortal feel to the game. While your character is better than the average human being, there is only so far that a humanoid body can take you, even when you're ascended.
Whether or not ANet intended it that way, the level cap makes it clear that despite how you may be ascended, you are not a god.
Now, I assume the reason you want a higher level cap is mainly because you want to be able to solo powerful monsters. This is also at odds with the concept behind the game. Guild Wars is a CORPG (Cooperative Online RPG), not a fantasy +2000 Sword of World of Warcraft.
If you want a game like that, then go play WOW. Otherwise deal with what you have.
And as for standard DnD campaigns being limited to level 20: never did my campaigns stop at level 20. Granted that after a while we got bored of our characters, we never played where level governed anything more than what enemies we faced.

the whole point of this game is for people (like me and others) who dont play GW 24/7 dont get left behind in lvls and it actually takes SKILL to win and succeed in tough situations and not time to get lvl X.
(yes this is just saying what many others said im just to lazy to find something new to say)

...I missed this topic.
Please, read the guidelines for this section and follow them. This has been addressed by the public...and by Anet, the level cap will not change. Posting the idea even after it's been denied by the devs, is useless.
